VETRO
Product Overview
Vetro is an application which helps user in search of a good veterinarian at their locality based on reviews and distance. In this application a user can book an appointment to a veterinarian in both online and offline mode. We will provide an adoption of animals which we have. Our targeted users are pet-Owners, pet-parents who don’t have time to search for a vet around.
Problem Statement
According to recent survey in India most of the animal deaths are because of not having proper medication on time. which means people are not aware of where veterinaries are located.
Solution:
Design an application for an user to help in finding a professionally certified veterinarian for their pets or animals in need near by their locality with multifunctional accessibility design in ease.
My role:
UX Designer: Design Vetro application from conception to delivery.
Responsibilities:
Conducting user research, paper and digital wireframing, Low & high fidelity prototyping, accounting for accessibility and iterating on designs etc.
Understanding the user
User research: summary
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand users I’m designing for and their Needs a primary user group identified through research who are lacking time in search Of good veterinarian for their pets.
This user group confirmed initial assumptions about Vetro’s app, but research also revealed that Time was not the only factor that limiting users to find a vet around. People who relocate Frequently this kind of user group also found during research.
User research : Pain Points
Time : Shift workers Aren’t having Time to search for vets for their pets.
Locality : People who are frequent relocators are not aware of their local vets and In remote areas people are facing difficulties in finding a vet for the animals in need.
Accessibility : Now a days platforms are not equipped With assistive technologies.
Research Insights :
In India, research studies proven that most of the animal deaths are caused due to lack of medication on proper time. In detail, most of the animal deaths are because of mankind in many ways. One of the most common way is time in these busy days people are in lack of time to take care of animals. The other hand we have remote areas who are not aware of pet parenting and medication it goes in an emergency situation most of the people leaving their pets on streets. Even though some people who came forward to help them they aren't aware of veterinaries locality.
User Persona's
Target Users
pet parents
members in NGO's who's working for animal welfare.
each individual who stands for animals in need
User Journey Map
User Needs
Tracker
Users need an application to track a a nearest veterinary location based on patient reviews
Appointment Based System
User needs to book an appointment whenever they need even in emergency situations.
Remainder and management
User keeps on forgetting about their appointments in their busy life so they need a remainder and management of appointment history.
Hypothesis
If we provide nearest veterinarians based on patient reviews and nearest from user locality then user can found nearest vet easily.
If we implement both online Consultancy slot booking and offline appointment booking it would be more useful in case of any pandemic times.
For an emergency situation we will include emergency call option when user choose emergency call nearest hospital will sent an ambulance with first aid kit and basic equipment and an compounder.
we will maintain invoices as proof and vet details to revisit. Moreover we need to give a remainder for their appointment minimum of 24hrs in prior.
Paper Wireframes
Taking the time to draft initial ideas of each screen of the app on paper ensured that the elements that made it to digital wireframes would be well suited to address users pain points for the home screen I prioritized a quick and easy booking appointment process to vet
Digital wireframes
As the initial design phase continued, I made sure to base screen designs on feedback and findings from the user research.
Low-fidelity prototype
Low fidelity prototype Connected the primary user flow from signup to an application continuing the core operation ends with payment functionality so this prototype can be used on usability study with users.
Usability Study: Parameters
Study type: Unmoderated usability study
Location: Mumbai, India | remote
Participants: 5 participants
Length: 15-25 minutes
Refining the design
taking usability study findings I iterated and modified the designs until it turns out a finished product.
Refined Mockups
Before usability study
Here it doesn't have recent pets menu and progress bar on top
After usability study
recent pets who had taken appointment and progress bar has included
Before usability study
here to view users profile option is there in navigation menu
After usability study
now at home screen alone we have an option to view user's profile as multi accessible
Before usability study
Here we have only online payment options
After usability Study
included offline payment option as payment at desk

learnings
While designing this Vetro application, I learnt that the initial ideas of an application wouldn’t be the final one. definitely, it will get influenced each iteration by the usability studies and peer feedbacks.
whatever product we had designed it should be used by everyone with ease globally.
The importance of user centered design to provide better experience
